In 1996, Pastor Jeff Jenkins experienced a personal calling in his heart to plant a church that helps equip and multiply small-town churches all over the world.  His burden was to help all people experience faith, hope, and love in Jesus Christ.  For the next 18 years, Pastor Jeff served as a Sr. Pastor of two different churches and served under the vision of other pioneering leaders who shaped his vision and heart for Jesus and His people. 

After many years serving on staff with healthy leaders in healthy world-influencing churches, Pastor Jeff sensed the call to step out and start up the church God put in his heart. His desire was to find the city that he could spend the rest of his life in pastoring and fulfilling God’s personal calling for helping people through the multiplication of churches.

Pastor Jeff visited McKinney, TX in December of 2014.  After driving through the city and surrounding area, he spent the night praying and writing at a piece of vacant property on Highway 75 overlooking the Collin County Courthouse and surrounding properties.  The Lord confirmed McKinney in his heart and so, a team of families moved to McKinney to begin serving and connecting with people. 

From the beginning, Anchor had one main goal:  offer hope to one more.  This became the shaping of God’s dream for us to lead people to Know God, Discover Purpose and Change Their World. On September 27, 2015, Anchor held our first service at the Sheraton Hotel in McKinney, TX. 383 people attended and 11 people were saved.

Anchor acquired property and began holding services in its current building in 2023 with plans to expand. God is moving.  Jesus is gaining ground.
